Diving into the Ocean 🌊

Some years ago, I had an interest in amateur photography and carried a compact digital camera with me on my travels; this predated the advent of smartphones with high quality cameras! On a short trip to my ancestral homeland, I chanced upon a group of young boys who were enjoying the tropical waters. I tried to capture the spirit of their happy times but was disappointed at my effort. As I turned away, I snapped this picture without much thought. It has since been one of my favourite pictures. This reminds me of the possibility of a simple, innocent and enjoyable life without the complications imposed by our modern and artifical lifestyles. I never cease to be impressed at the graceful and powerful movement of the young boy as he propels himself into the vast and accommodating ocean.
